Emerald Coast Regional Mustang Club donates $1500 to Fisher House

We were in the house with our Mustang owner friends last evening and received a (WOWZA) $1500 donation from the Emerald Coast Regional Mustang Club.

The club was created in 1987 by four local Mustang enthusiasts as an informal social group. The club has steadily grown over the years and was officially recognized and adopted as a regional group by the Mustang Club of America in 1995. All generations of Mustangs are represented in the club. Our members also cover several generations, yet share a common love for the Mustang car, it’s enjoyment, preservation, and history.

The Emerald Coast Regional Mustang Club actively supports several charity organizations in the local area; sponsor an annual car show each year and participate in other local charity events as a means to collect funds for these causes.  They also participate in the Fat Tuesday parade with us at Baytowne Village  each year, sharing a few mustangs for the crowds to enjoy.

Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month. Social hour starts at 6PM and the meeting begins at 7 PM.

Mosquito Joe of Niceville donates BIG – 2021 is $1500

Mosquito Joe of Northwest Florida donates $20 for every person that pre-pays and mentions, “give 20.” By doing this they were able to donate $1500 to our Fisher House in 2021. Each year, they have been more successful and the donations have risen significantly.

Mosquito Joe of Northwest Florida specifically partners with the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.  Need some help with Florida’s most popular mosquito named Joe?  Call our friends and give 20.

When Sara visited to make this presentation, she learned of the What’s for Dinner program and signed up to bring meals too!  What a blessing the Bess family is!

34th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival donates (a word that rhymes with Shorty!)

So I love this….this and these people, and all the people they represent. Lots of labor, lots of people buying tickets and enjoying the festival, and behind this picture are the doors leading into the home away from home comfort our families receive because of this……..❤️  The single largest donation ever from our friends at the Village of Baytowne Wharf.  We are so grateful for Alan, Leighann, Troy and Kensey, AND Keith Brown, making his final tour as our VIP Volunteer Coordinator.

Crane Fund for Widows and Children donates $5,000

Our friends at Crane Aerospace and Electronics just partnered to keep our heroes and their families together, donating $5,000 as a Catbird Sponsorship for 2021.  These kind hearts recognize the impact families make on hope and healing, and when we were there to grab the photo, one of their employees (SPONTANEOUSLY) shared a testimonial where she was blessed at one of the Keesler Fisher Houses during the illness of her mother.

AWESOME to hear we always say yes there is room in our inn because of our generous community. 91 houses now with more coming……#loveisgoodmedicine, Pass it on!

Hey Mosquito Joe! Mosquito, Tick & Flea Control in Northwest Florida

Meet the Bess family….To support our Eglin Fisher House, Mosquito Joe of Northwest Florida donates $20 for every person that pre-pays and mentions, “give 20.” By doing this they were able to donate $380 in 2018, in 2019 $500 and for 2020, they reached their goal to donate $1,000.  Located in Niceville, we  love to promote the local businesses who give back and hey, they are also a military family = win-win. Recycling our previous photo, this year virtual and social distanced. Here is a link to their business page.

On behalf of Bear Bait Ultras, Dan Landrum presented proceeds from the SOLD OUT 2020 event held in January to the Eglin Fisher House.  As part of the planning, he also shared that the 2021 event would be relocating to a new venue, which would open up slots for even more enthusiastic runners.  Bear Bait Ultras have a long-standing relationship supporting our Fisher House and we look forward to this new location in Santa Rosa County at Adventures Unlimited.  Our treasurer, Jerry Williams, President/CEO of Eglin Federal Credit Union regularly runs this race and is training now for the new race!

Florida Powerboat Club donates $2,000 from 2020 Poker Run

Stu Jones, President and Founder of Florida Powerboat Foundation recently shared the happy news that proceeds from the Emerald Coast Powerboat Week, held August 13-15 would net a $2,000 donation to the local Fisher House at Eglin AFB.  This fun, well attended, annual poker run has blessed not only the Eglin Fisher House for the past three years, but also various other charities across the Emerald Coast.

P.S.  We love that Stu remembers the military and veteran families who stay with us each year, keeping them together for hope and healing because of folks like Stu and his powerboat friends.  Pictured are Mia Hughes, Executive Director, along with Jerry Williams, CEO/President of Eglin Federal Credit Union.
