Pay it forward with Night Lights!

You know how something can give you a goosebump(s) on your arm and cause you to stop and think? We picked up the mail yesterday and received a package from a previous guest. They paid it forward, blessing our home and future families with a generous monetary donation AND a box of night lights. I love how this circle of life keeps going. #keepingfamiliestogether today’s goal, bless someone randomly. #itwillblessyoutoo

Donnie retired after serving in the US Air Force for 26 years in security forces and communications capacities. His passion for the Fisher House began when he stayed at one in Landstuhl, Germany.

“Thank you all for what you do.  I was so scared when I checked in but it was an incredible blessing to stay here while I supported my brother to become hopefully more on the road to full recovery.  The love and care for all will never be forgotten.

Please watch over my brother, quietly and I hope to see you one day with a smile to match that of a full recovery for my brother.  Thank you to all the people that support your great work.”

Words from Guests December 27, 2018

“I arrived here on 15 October 2018 for HBOT treatments, 40 – 1.5 hour each.  Today I will finish and return home.  My stay at the (Eglin) Fisher House has been great.  The staff and facility is above and beyond anything that this old marine is used to.  May our good Lord bless this wonderful facility and staff, because they give so much love, respect and encouragement to our veterans and their families.  My 40 HBOT treatments by Dr. Zant was a blessing to me.  HBOT does wonders for PTSD, TBI and many other combat injuries.  Blast concussion was one of my main problems plus radiation burns suffered during cancer treatments, agent orange problem.  I ask God’s blessing on all who assisted me to come out a winner.”

Nick’s Birthday

Today, I spoke with Ashley, his wife and it’s one of those calls you get – she wants to honor her husband, stationed at Hurlburt, U28 pilot, she mentions all the work done by Fisher Houses and when he came home……I am thinking injured and then she says “to Dover”….where our fallen come to be honored. Sometimes bad things happen to our best. This family is blessing more military families today in honor of Nicks birthday. Say his name, remember him and his sacrifice.
