Privacy Policy

Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc. ("Fisher House Emerald Coast," "we," "us," or "our") is a Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to fisherhouseemeraldcoast.org (the "Site") and from donors, volunteers, guests, and program participants, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or providing information to us, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only information that helps us serve military and veteran families and operate our nonprofit responsibly. This includes:
- Information you provide directly — name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any message content when you contact us, subscribe to updates, register for an event, apply to volunteer, or request a stay.
- Donation information — donation amount, billing details, and acknowledgment preferences. Payment card details are collected and processed by our PCI-compliant payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Volunteer and program information — background information reasonably necessary to place volunteers or coordinate guest stays.
- Automatically collected information — IP address, browser type, device information, referring URLs, pages viewed, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the Site and respond to inquiries.
- To process donations and issue tax acknowledgments.
- To coordinate volunteer opportunities, events, and guest stays.
- To send newsletters and program updates you have requested.
- To comply with legal, tax, and reporting obligations that apply to a 501(c)(3) organization.
- To protect the security and integrity of the Site and our organization.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Site, process donations, deliver email, host our data, or provide analytics, under contracts that require confidentiality and limit their use of the information.
- The Fisher House Foundation network when necessary to coordinate care for military families.
- Legal, safety, or regulatory recipients when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our guests, volunteers, staff, or the organization.
4. Cookies and Analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences and understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, though some features of the Site may not function properly without them.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by applicable law (for example, donation records retained for tax and audit purposes).

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You may unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and consistent with applicable law.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act). We honor verifiable requests to the extent required by those laws.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including donation platforms and the national Fisher House Foundation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
