Words from Guests December 27, 2018

“I arrived here on 15 October 2018 for HBOT treatments, 40 – 1.5 hour each.  Today I will finish and return home.  My stay at the (Eglin) Fisher House has been great.  The staff and facility is above and beyond anything that this old marine is used to.  May our good Lord bless this wonderful facility and staff, because they give so much love, respect and encouragement to our veterans and their families.  My 40 HBOT treatments by Dr. Zant was a blessing to me.  HBOT does wonders for PTSD, TBI and many other combat injuries.  Blast concussion was one of my main problems plus radiation burns suffered during cancer treatments, agent orange problem.  I ask God’s blessing on all who assisted me to come out a winner.”

Words from Guests December 19 2018 – rooms 110 and 111

“Thank you Lord. Thank you Fisher House. What a blessing, what a community, Donnie, Marc, John, Judy and Melissa. You guys are doing God’s work every day. We traveled here from South Carolina to support my sister during her surgery. She reserved us a suite here in the Fisher House mansion. I am grateful, we are grateful. Thank you to the founders of the Fisher House.”

Honoring our Wounded Warriors at Christmas

Here is a note we received today and how you can make a difference.

“For several years my brother and I have elected to donate to some worthy organization or foundation that supports our wounded military and/or their families in lieu of exchanging Christmas gifts.

On November 30th, I was listening to a show on talk radio and the host talked with one of our wounded warriors whose family was greatly helped by Fisher House over a period of several months.  As a result of this interview, I have selected Fisher House to be the recipient of my gift this year.  While searching online, I was reminded that there is a Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.  This year, therefore, I would like to make a small contribution to help you out.”

Please join with this generous donor, who also is a retired USAF officer, in blessing our military families in times of medical need.   Our house becomes a home to approximately 1,000 guests annually and it is through you that this #loveisgoodmedicine takes place.

Destin Woman’s Club donate $10,000

This group of lovely women prepare meals for our guests, host events and participate in many service efforts throughout the community. What a great group of leaders making a difference. Nick’s Birthday

Today, I spoke with Ashley, his wife and it’s one of those calls you get – she wants to honor her husband, stationed at Hurlburt, U28 pilot, she mentions all the work done by Fisher Houses and when he came home……I am thinking injured and then she says “to Dover”….where our fallen come to be honored. Sometimes bad things happen to our best. This family is blessing more military families today in honor of Nicks birthday. Say his name, remember him and his sacrifice.
